“My hovercraft is not just a toy; I have a motive for it.”

Barry Eison of Tennessee is a man with a plan. But the 56-year-old industrial maintenance specialist was determined to give his plan a strong foundation: “I’ve been looking at hovercraft for five years. I’ve looked at just about every hovercraft company out there; Neoteric is the only one that doesn’t have a single negative review.

Barry further boosted his strong foundation by completing thorough training at Hovercraft Training Centers. He says, “My biggest concern was being able to safely operate the craft. Training is absolutely necessary; if you don’t know how to use it, stay off of it!”  Here, Barry (right) receives his certification from HTC Senior Instructor Chris Fitzgerald …

Why a hovercraft? Barry says, “Every time we go out hunting, fishing, exploring, we see places we can’t get to. With a hovercraft, I think we can get to them.” But his plan involves much more than just having fun with his hovercraft – he intends to turn it into a business. “I know the outdoors. I know what people would like to see a hovercraft do. I’ll learn the hovercraft and be able to show what it’s capable of doing,” he says, “If I can marry these two, I can sell hovercraft.

Even before he learned to fly his new hovercraft, he’d already lined up at least 14 potential people interested in taking test flights - among them not just sportsmen but also rice farmers, first responders and game wardens. Here’s what Barry has to say about each group …

Sportsmen: “When you’re hunting, fishing, exploring, so many areas are inaccessible. Especially if you’re getting up in years, you can’t travel through mud or wade through swamps. Duck hunting is big in my area; one of the biggest frustrations for duck hunters is you have to be able to go from water to land to water – a hovercraft makes that possible.”

Rice farmers: “Rice farmers require a levee around their property, and maintaining it is a nightmare. The water in a rice field isn’t deep enough for a boat, so they have to use 4-wheelers or Rangers and end up causing damage. Hovercraft would allow them to fly right over their crop without damaging it. I already have four rice farmers that want me to give them demo rides.”

First responders: “Every year we have people die when the spring floods come. I’ve seen people die because we couldn’t get to them. A couple of volunteer rescue squads are already very interested, so I’ll volunteer my services to them.”

Game wardens: “I have a cabin in a 26,000-acre refuge. The game warden there talks about how he can’t get to areas for enforcement or counting wildlife. He has an extreme interest in hovercraft.”

He’s done his research, he’s chosen a state-of-the-art hovercraft, and he thoroughly understands the importance of proper training. We predict that Barry Eison is well on his way, hovering straight toward success!

Video: Neoteric Hovercraft soars over broken ice

It’s official: this has been the most frigid January in a century. But that doesn’t deter a hovercraft owner from enjoying the weather! Neoteric customer Dirk Lohry lives on McCook Lake in South Dakota – and he enjoys flying over the lake year-round. Watch through his GoPro Helmet Cam as he soared over the broken ice last week …

Unlike most other vehicles, a hovercraft flies safely and easily over ice – even thin or broken ice. And the Neoteric HoverTrek’s patented reverse thrust system makes it the hovercraft of choice for ice rescues, ice fishing, and other operations on ice. As Dirk Lohry says, “Maneuvering is easy due to the reverse thrusters.”

Dirk built his own hovercraft from a Neoteric Partially-Assembled Kit. Check out the photo gallery of his construction in the Neoteric Hover Garage …

PGA pros Don Law and Mike Bennett hover like Bubba at Noble 10

Bubba Watson isn’t the only golf pro to hover into the future of golf carts. The prestigious Noble Financial Capital Markets 10th Annual Equity Conference (“Noble 10”) featured the Neoteric HoverGolf Cart - the official replica of Bubba’s BWI – and PGA golf pros and famed trainers Don Law and Mike Bennett were quick to jump on board.

Don Law is founder and director of the Don Law Golf Academy, one of the largest year-round training programs in the nation, and recipient of numerous PGA awards, including Golf Professional of the Year; President’s Plaque; Junior Leader; Bill Strausbaugh and the Distinguished Service Award.

Mike Bennett is co-founder of the Stack & Tilt Academy at Club Med in Port St. Lucie, Florida, where Noble 10 took place. Since 2005, Mike’s students have won more than 50 million dollars in PGA Tour winnings.

Before their presentations at Noble 10, Don Law (left) and Mike Bennett (right) gear up to experience Bubba’s Hover firsthand ...

Neoteric’s Steve Stafford, a Hovercraft Training Centers instructor, flies the two pros over the course at Club Med.

Even with their decades of experience, after soaring in style in the HoverGolf Cart, what do you want to bet that these two golf pros will never look at the game in the same way again?

Neoteric Hovercraft are huge hit at exclusive business event

Noble Financial Capital Markets’ 10th Annual Equity Conference (“Noble 10”), an exclusive event for Wall Street executives, investors, and world business leaders, has been dubbed “the ultimate adventure in capitalism.” But judging by the photos so far, this year’s Noble 10 may well become known as “the ultimate adventure in hovercrafting!”

Neoteric’s Steve Stafford, who is also a flight instructor at Hovercraft Training Centers, was invited to give rides in a Neoteric hovercraft and the Neoteric HoverGolf Cart at the event, which is taking place at Club Med in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Judging from the attention he’s getting, he could be piloting the greatest assets discussed at Noble 10!

Anything that can mesmerize kids on a beach is a definite attention-getter!

He's definitely up for this as the hovercraft launches onto the water!

And he's even more excited after his ride!

Steve reports that the excitement began long before he arrived in Florida: during transport, the hovercraft was photographed all across the country! There’s no doubt about it – from creating an event highlight, to encouraging charitable giving, to boosting military recruiting - there’s nothing like a Neoteric hovercraft for attracting attention!

Wall Street, Club Med, Cadillac … and the Neoteric HoverGolf Cart!

The massive publicity created by Bubba’s Hover, the viral video of Bubba Watson’s BW1 hovercraft golf cart manufactured by Neoteric, has now evolved into a steadily rising level of prestige. As the world recognizes that the Neoteric HoverGolf Cart attracts major attention wherever it goes, it has definitely been going places - appearing as an attraction at charity events, grand openings, and special events of all types.

January 19-23, the HoverGolf Cart will join Wall Street executives, investors, and world business leaders at Club Med in Port St. Lucie, Florida for “the ultimate adventure in capitalism” – the Noble Financial Capital Markets 10th Annual Equity Conference. While Cadillac provides general transportation at this famed event (last year it was Porsche), Neoteric’s Steve Stafford, who is also an HTC Flight Instructor, will really get things off the ground with rides in the HoverGolf Cart.

In addition to corporate presentations, the 550 attendees and their families will enjoy every leisure activity imaginable – from sailing, paddle boarding and flying trapeze lessons, to tennis lessons with Gabriel Jaramillo and golf with the Club Med Academy and its world-famous teaching pros, who developed the Stack and Tilt golf swing technique. And, of course, hovering like Bubba in the Neoteric HoverGolf Cart!

In every way, this event is business at its best. As Mark Pinvidic, Noble’s managing partner and chief organizer of Noble 10 says, “We’re sure this one is going to score a perfect ten!”

Neoteric hovercraft “worked beautifully, across the ice to the water.”

John and Maureen Wright are law enforcement retirees who live on an island in Buckthorn, Ontario, Canada. And even though their hobbies include skiing, snowmobiling and sailing “every boat conceivable,” nothing would get them back and forth from their home to the mainland when the surrounding water is not frozen enough to walk on or too frozen for a boat.

Their dilemma? “We either stay home for weeks while it freezes, or we go away for weeks waiting for it to freeze.”

Their solution? A Neoteric hovercraft: “Now we’ll be good to go whenever we want!”

The Wrights thoroughly researched hovercraft before finalizing their decision. First, they decided on a Neoteric craft: “It’s a vessel that fits our needs.”  Next, they underwent training at Hovercraft Training Centers. “I took training to learn how to drive a car,” John said. “And you don’t fly a plane without taking some instruction – you’re gonna crash. Same thing goes with this.”

Maureen agreed, “I need to be in it and see it explained for me to be comfortable. Training is just a commonsense thing to me.”
At the HTC training site on the Wabash River, John takes the controls
while instructor Chris Fitzgerald provides constant direction and feedback.
Back at HTC headquarters, John and Maureen accept their hovercraft pilot certifications

A few days after returning to Canada, the Wrights sent an update on how their hovercraft performs on partially frozen water and solid ice: “I liken it to a rocket ship in space where the inertia is exponential. But it worked beautifully, across the ice to the water …”
